Administrative Functions / General Application Settings¶
These settings allow Administrators to control the general behaviour of MAGIQ Documents.
To view or change the Application Settings¶
- Navigate to the MAGIQ Documents Control Panel.
- Click General Application Settings. The "Application Settings" window will appear.
Please note that some of the settings can be changed from this screen but most settings are defined in the web.config file and must be changed there. This window simply shows/displays the settings in the web.config file.
[WEB.CONFIG]¶
The settings contained in the WEB.CONFIG section are set at the time of installation and are of a Technical nature. To modify any of these settings you will need to access and update the web.config file in your \Site folder.

Please contact a MAGIQ Documents representative prior to editing any settings in the web.config file.
Application URL¶
This setting is very important. It must be set correctly for email functions to work properly. If not set correctly, the links provided in outgoing notification emails will not function properly.
Index Server¶
This setting determines if MAGIQ Documents is to use Index Server as its indexing engine.
Index Catalogue¶
This is the name of the Index Server Catalogue that was created.
Upload limits and timeouts¶
Maximum document size limit¶
This setting determines the maximum document size, in megabytes, that can be uploaded into infoRouter. Documents larger than this cannot be uploaded.
HTTP File Upload Limit¶
To change this value, the 'MaxRequestLength' attribute needs to change in the web.config file located on the MAGIQ Documents server
File Upload Time Out¶
This setting determines the File upload timeout value. If this time is exceeded the upload will fail to complete.
Zip Downloads¶
Maximum allowed total document for zip¶
Determines the maximum zip file size, in megabytes, that can be downloaded to a zip file
Maximum allowed total document count for zip¶
Determines the maximum number of documents allowed in the zip file.
Enable / Disable features¶
Allow Ownership Transfer¶
This setting determines whether a user with appropriate permissions can transfer ownership of his/her documents and folders to others.
Allow rerouting of redirected tasks¶
Ticking this enables your route tasks that have been received from other users.
Refer to task rerouting under My Profile for more information.
WebDAV¶
This setting determines whether the WebDAV feature is enabled or disabled.
Add-in downloads¶
With this option unchecked the Client add-ins will be hidden under the menu option of Tools - Client Addins / Programs.
This is the standard due to how citrix/terminal service environment works.
MAGIQ Documents recommends using the Document Workbench or Office Connectors for registering documents.
Send Diagnostic and Usage Statistics to support¶
For Diagnostice or usage statistic information can be sent to support.
System Recycle Bin Settings¶
Automatically move user recycle bin items to system recycle bin¶
Tick if you want to automatically move the users recycle bin items to the system recycle bin after x number of months specified in 'Purge system recycle bin items older than'.
Automatically purge deleted items older than¶
If selected, allows automatic deletion of items from the system recycle bin.
The automatic purge is calculated from the time the item was emptied from the users recycle bin, not when it was originally deleted.
When a user empties there recycle bin, the items are moved into the system recycle bin.
Purge system recycle bin items older than¶
Enter number of months when recycle bin will automatically be purged.
Business Days¶
Task due dates will only include the days specified and exclude holidays.
Other Settings¶
Number of results per page¶
This setting determines the number of documents returned on each page of search results. 100 is maximum.
Minimum year to display in date controls¶
Select the earliest year, for example 1979 that have registered into the system.
When doing date searches/selection, you will be able to select any year from 1979 onwards.
