Upload Failed error message (Word or Excel)

This is normally due to a network issue. In previous versions of Microsoft Office you would review the error messages in 'Upload Center'.

With Office365, the Upload Center has been replaced with Files Needing Attention which is found under Files > Open.

At the time of writing this, to replicate the 'Upload Failed' message occurred when editing a spreadsheet with numerous hyperlinks, on saving the changes the error was presented.

Some solutions:

• Delete/clear the cache. Once done, make your changes and save.

  To clear the cache.

  • Within Excel, Choose File > Options > Save,
  • Scroll to bottom and click Delete Cached Files.

• Click Save a Copy locally. Then manually check out and in the document.

• Change the Trust Center settings, as per the below instructions.
  • Click File > Options.
  • Select Trust Center.
  • Click Trust Center Settings
  • Choose Protected View.
  • Untick Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet.
