Document Navigator

The Web Navigator module enables users to quickly read a group of documents from a folder, search results or In-Tray within their web browser. Some of the actions that are easily performed whilst reading the documents include:

  • Navigate Between Multiple Open Documents
  • View Document Properties from the Navigator Sidebar
  • View/Add Comments from the Navigator Sidebar
  • View/Add Associations from the Navigator Sidebar
  • View PDF, Word and Excel documents using the built in-viewer
  • Quick Edit of Word and Excel documents using the built-in viewer
  • Edit of MS Office Documents using WebDAV
  • Create Task or Send to Workflow
  • Print Cover Page or Comment List
  • Send Document via Email

The Navigator is built using MAGIQ Document's Foundation Framework which is based on HTML5 technology. The Foundation Framework has been designed so that installing MAGIQ Documents apps (like the Web Navigator and Workbench) on the server will be like installing apps on your smart phone.

Back when MAGIQ Documents was first released in 2006 there were some functions that we couldn't perform within a Web browser environment and so we developed a number of Windows Enhancement Apps such as the Document Workbench and Navigator to perform these functions. However, with the advent of HTML5 technology we can now perform the majority of these tasks in the new Web modules (such as the Web Navigator) which has the advantage of not needing to install the app on the workstation as well as supporting other platforms such as the Mac.
