How to setup WebDAV on your workstation¶
Setting up WebDAV on your workstation will allow you to access MAGIQ Documents documents and folders directly from Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder window bypassing the MAGIQ Documents user interface.
How to setup WebDAV on a Mac¶
- Launch Finder.
- Click GO menu.
- Click Connect to Server menu item.
- Enter the MAGIQ Documents server URL
- Click Connect to complete the operation.

if the server is local, enter the network path:
\\magiq.edrms\dav
How to setup WebDAV on Windows 10¶
- Launch Windows Explorer.
- Right click on Network
- Choose Map Network Drive
- Pick a drive letter such as Z:
- Click the link of Connect to a web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures.
- This will launch the Add Network Location wizard.
- Click Next.
- Click the link of Choose a custom network location.
- Click Next.
- Enter the Internet or network address information which is the MAGIQ Documents DAV path.
How to setup WebDAV on Windows 8¶
- Launch Windows Explorer.
- Right click on Network
- Choose Map Network Drive
- Pick a drive letter such as Z:
- Click the link of Connect to a web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures.
- This will launch the "Add Network Location" wizard.
- Click Next.
- Click the link of Choose a custom network location.
- Click Next.
- Enter the Internet or network address information which is the MAGIQ Documents DAV path.
Note
Since the introduction of MS Office Add-in and the various tools such as the GUI Import/Export tool, we do not recommend heavy usage of the WebDAV functionality.
Microsoft's implementation of WebDAV across various Windows platforms such as XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.x is not consistent.
Adding to the mix, the differences in MS Office versions, WebDAV has become increasingly difficult to manage on a consistent basis.
