Retention & Disposition Schedules / Retention and Disposition Schedules

Retention and Disposal schedules are used for the sentencing (archiving and destruction) of corporate records.

A retention and disposal schedule is a legal way to authorize the destruction or transfer of public records.

The schedule itself is a document that:

  • describes the type of business a public authority performs.
  • identifies the records produced as a result of that business.
  • specifies how long each record must be kept.

All documents and folders subject to retention are protected against accidental or deliberate deletion even in cases where the user attempting the delete operation has full privileges.
