Users and User Management / Transferring ownership¶
When a user leaves or changes roles it is possible to transfer all memberships, security, Tasks and subscriptions to the user who will be taking over the role.
Note
It is NOT recommended to transfer document or folder ownerships. For further information refer Deleting vs Transferring of Users.
To transfer ownership of documents, folders and other assets to another user¶
- Navigate to the MAGIQ Documents Control Panel.
- Click Manage Users
- In the list that appears, select the user.
- Click Transfer ownership from in the left sidebar.
- This will launch the "Transfer ownership" window.
- In the "Transfer ownership" window
New Owner¶
Select the user who you want to transfer the below items to.
Library Memberships¶
All library memberships.
User Group Memberships¶
Membership of all user groups.
Library Management Roles¶
Any "Library manager" roles.
Permission Assignments¶
Any security permissions granted.
Workflow Roles¶
Roles defined in workflow definitions. Excluding supervisor role.
Existing Tasks¶
Existing tasks that are assigned.
ISO Review¶
Any document resubmits.
Checked out Documents¶
Documents the user has checked out.
Folder Ownerships¶
All folders the user has created.
Document Ownerships¶

Document Subscriptions¶
All document subscriptions.
Folder subscriptions¶
All folder subscriptions.
Document expiration notices¶
All document expirations
